Can't Deal

Rough, rough, rough day yesterday.  Had one kid home sick and a family pet passed away.  I cried and screamed more than I have about anything in years (and that's saying something).  I didn't eat all day, hadn't slept enough (between sick kids and pets), didn't have any adult contact and every little thing set me off, so I spent the day living every letter of HALT: hungry, angry, lonely and tired.  Today I'm practicing the self-care I couldn't yesterday and taking a day or so away from the computer.  I'll be back and writing soon.

  2. I'm so sorry you had a tough day. It's the worst feeling when everything comes at you at once. You are doing the right thing by recognizing HALT and doing something for yourself today. Hang in there. You are an inspiration to many of us.

    Losing a pet is often like losing a family member. Very sad.

  9. It's always so sad to lose a pet. I went through it last year and the boys and I still regularly talk about how much we miss him. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

  24. It can be so hard being "the Mama" sometimes... and adding grief with illness can really tip the scales of serenity... so sorry!

    I'm glad you are taking care of yourself though... :-) Because we all know that "If Mama ain't happy nobody is happy..."
